JEFFERSON CITY - With only hours left before Missouri voters head to the polls for Election Day, GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin pumped up the Republican faithful with a rally at the Missouri Capitol.
Thousands of people gathered on and around the south lawn of the Capitol building to hear the Alaska governor speak. Flanked by a huge American flag behind a statue of Thomas Jefferson, Palin gave the crowd a boost before tomorrows election.
"The time for choosing is near," Palin said. "And, now more than ever, we need somebody tough as president."
Dubbing presidential contender John McCain "pro-growth and pro-private sector," Palin said the Republican ticket will keep taxes low and confront a growing national debt.
That, she said, was in contrast to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., who she said was for "higher taxes and bigger government."

I am surprised the SS allowed her to walk unescorted down the steps. Only takes one loon.

True, but I think she’s surrounded by thousands of honorary Secret Service deputies :) I expect justice would be swiftly dealt by the crowd.

Ok. I admit it. I have a girl crush on her. Here is someone who is truly like me- smart, confident, and a true patriotic American woman- on a national ticket. And she’s wearing jeans! Go Sarah!
