HOUSTON - Kevin Garnett was famous for scrawling short, affectionate messages to family and friends on his sneakers during his first years in the NBA.

The young, emotional player was fresh out of high school, and his medium was considered unique.

But as technology has since changed, so has Garnett’s political sophistication and stature.

KG might change his mind after a new tax plan.

When 0bama reduces the nation’s economy to Zimbabwe status, nobody will be able to pay to watch KG play, or buy his expensive endorsed sneakers. His “industry” is parasitic; it produces nothing and must survive off the productive segments of the economy. People who need to scrape money to survive day to day will not pay $100 per seat to go watch him dunk a basketball.

In the end, he will be in the soup line with us. He’ll be easy to spot; he’s the tall guy.

KG and the rest of the Celtics send Kobiatch and the Eurotrash Lakers home crying in June. He gets a pass from me on this one.

Kevin Garnett has earned close to $200 million dollars to play ball and pimp products. He is not the class of folks who will get hurt. He’s nearing the end of his career.

“...That would be adidas, which has made special Election Day sneakers for Garnett and the Rockets’ Tracy McGrady...”

Adidas, Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady all have the right to express their opinions. I’m glad they did. However, sometimes having an opinion comes at a price. Ask Sarah Palin. I have an opinion as well. Three more names added to the list of those who will never see, feel or touch any of my money. I’ll toss the entire NBA on the list just for good measure. Even though the list is getting long, it’s a lot easier spending the fruits of my productive endeavors with like minded individuals and companies than one would think.

That’s true; KG got his. I guess he doesn’t care about “making sure the ones coming behind him have the same opportunity” or whatever 0bama said in his response to Joe the Plumber.

Wow. A rich 0bama-supporting entertainment figure being a hypocrite. Who’d a thunk it?

I’m surprised the NBA - not to mention the team - allows this. Commish David Stern must be a Dem. The NFL doesn’t play when it comes to uniform infractions. Fines are sure and swift.

Dang. I've loved KG since 1996 and it was bittersweet to see him go to the Celtics- I wanted him to win a ring but hated to see him leave the Wolves.

I'm a pretty serious rec bball player. I'm loyal to Adidas and I've bought three different years of his shoes. I've been waiting for his new ones (Adidas TS Commander Team) to come out on November 7th. Now, I'm not so sure. He is one of sports good guys but it rubs me the wrong way that he is making political statements. I believe Michael Jordan is savvy enough to avoid doing so...

I am not sure if it is still the case but his shoe contract proceeds went into a fund for Malik Sealy's child. Sealy was not under contract when he was killed by a drunk driver. All of the shoes I have have "For Malik" or "MSRIP" or some similar tribute message incorporated into them. I thought this was a nice touch to have the manufacturer agree to do.

Expect Stern to preside over a pretty serious downsizing of salaries and contributions over the next several years. A few teams are struggling now and the product is beginning to be less interesting. The Jordan era gave way to an era of wannabe street thugs, tattoos and smack talk. Other times the NBA reminds fans of wrestling with over priced tickets. Garnett is going around the league as a reigning NBA Champion creating a spectacle picking on the opposing team's smallest non-African American player.
