PETERBOROUGH, N.H. -- As his campaign nears its end, John McCain convened a town hall meeting tonight in New Hampshire, the state that has sustained his presidential aspirations during the darkest times.
McCain's first-place finish in New Hampshire in 2000 made him a serious contender against George W. Bush, though it failed to carry him through the rest of the primaries. Nearly eleven months ago, winning here put him on the path to securing his party's nomination. While only a couple of dozen people showed up eight years ago when he held one of his first town halls here, tonight a crowd of more than 2,000 supporters stood out in the cold to greet him, while another 400 waited inside to see him speak.
Cindy McCain alluded to her husband's winning record in New Hampshire in her opening remarks, thanking the audience "most of all, for your vote of confidence during primaries." Recalling how she stood in Peterborough's town hall in 2000 just before the presidential primary, she said, "I felt I had come home."
Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) indulged in his own reminiscence when he took the microphone, telling the group he was wearing "the lucky red sweater" he wore when he endorsed McCain for president back in December in New Hampshire. "I'm relying on this sweater and the Republicans, and independents, and Democrats in New Hampshire, to take John with your four electoral votes to the White House on Tuesday," he said.

NH is going McCain. This is based solely on gut feelings.
First, the signs for McCain are about 6 to 1. For Kerry/Bush it was even.
Secondly, many lifelong Dems I know are voting for McCain. None would have considered Bush 4 years ago.
Your mouth to His ears.
Make that FREEZING COLD - 31 when I left. Glad to do it.

I wonder if CT will go for McCain. I know that in one Democratic town there’s more McCain/Palin signs then Obama.
"I will make my highest priority getting immigration reform done, and that begins with securing our borders," he said. "But I've also got to tell you, these are God's children."
OMG! WTF is the #%(@! RINO McCain smoking?!!! And he said this yesterday in New Hampshire!
“But I’ve also got to tell you, these are God’s children.”Where does God say you can in actual fact use document fraud to move ahead or steal or make up id’s to obtain work ? As Lennon once said,we’d all love to see the plan.
He is still messaging to the illegals who are going to turn out and indulge in voter fraud and vote (why would they care about violate federal law? They already have!!)...but what McCain will realize is that he will get maybe 20% max of trhe hispanic vote. Foolish.
