In this election, yes, the demographics are more favorable to McCain. In 2004, the union-Dems, the blue-collar Dems, etc out in Western PA, in Scranton, and elsewhere went for Kerry. This election they are showing a great resistence to Obama. These are the voters that he lost by 2 & 3-1 to Hillary Clinton in the primaries.
In Colorado, the Dems have been laying grassroots groundwork there since 2004. They have some lefty billionaires that have financed a Dem resurgence in that state.
In Colorado the Democrats come in third in voter registration, behind the GOP (first) and a category along the lines of “Decline to State.”
the RAT convention was held in CO... that has a carryover effect
Moreover, Theresa Kerry had a lot of friends in western PA.
So yes, if fraud can be held in check in Philadelphia, McCain may have a better shot in PA than CO.
