After his conviction and sentencing, it was revealed by KGO host Gene Burns that station officials, worried about the obese Ward's irritability and mood swings, sent him to a fat farm because they thought his weight problem was the source of his depression. KGO made a deal with the fat farm and set up a studio where he could do his show as usual each night.

Other than listening to Cal football, I can go months without turning to KGO. The most recent time I did, I heard the bimbonic substitute host Pat Thurston opine that the Electoral College should be eliminated because smaller states get too much attention.

KGO's saving grace is Dr. Bill Wattenberg, a brilliant man. He is the only right-of-center host on the station.
