If it wasn't for DOUBLE STANDARDS, democrats would have no standards at all.

Calling a person - or persons - "racist" with no foundation is not only cheap and unfair, it is the ultimate in cowardess.

Whenever the obama campaign can't win in the arena of ideas and policy, they just pull out their entitlement worn deck of race cards and play them on you.

Reminds me of the Queen in the Alice in Wonderland scenes yelling "Off with their heads" for simply disagreeing with them.

It's time for the race card to lose some of it's clout, because it has become a battering ram used to give any person of color their way on anything they desire. Wouldn't it be nice to have that power.

But this guy thinks that by telling us (the white racist) that obama is just "half black", that it will make a difference. That it does not, should tell a lot to this race-baiter.

It's his politics, stupid...not his color. Does this pimp think for one minute that I - as a white guy - would dare vote for another white guy espousing "redistribution"? Gore and Kerry were not even THAT left, and I voted AGAINST them.

Many blacks have come to the point that they feel so empowered by their color, that education, beliefs, politics and behavior don't seem to matter anymore.

I've been surreptitiously called "racist" so many times during the obama campaign, I'm starting to feel comfortable with it, like a little guy gets used to be called "Shorty".

Maybe next time they'll divide us up into classes, like "Racist 2nd Class", or "Racist 1st Class"...just to measure our degree of "racism".

But, I'm not a government, I'm not a business, I'm just an individual and (so far) I still have a right to my opinions.

I hate to tell the jesse jackson wannabe, but when the curtain closes behind me in the voting booth, I vote for the best man for the job...not the color. If HE wants to make it about color, then HE IS THE RACIST...not me.

Are you suggesting that Ogletree, in these comments, is somehow playing the “race card,” to get an advantage in the election?

What I’ve seen other people suggest, including comments on FR, is that what’s going on here is that Ogletree and others who favor affirmative action and massive aid to poor blacks want to be able to say that the fact that Obama has been elected (if he is) doesn’t mean that white America is no longer racist — because Obama’s “not really black.”

In other words, if Obama’s elected, Ogletree’s worried that feelings of racial grievance by blacks will lessen, and feeling of white guilt will likewise lessen, and there will be less support for government aid to blacks. By defining Obama as “biracial,” Ogletree hopes to guard against the risks to his agenda posed by an Obama win.

Of course, ultimately the obsession with race of Ogletree and his fellow thinkers is quite destructive of the interests of all Americans, which is why I thought it was the approach of Obama NOT to make his candidacy as one about race — to try to get beyond race. Either that’s a sham, and Ogletree’s speaking in line with Obama’s real thinking, or Ogletree’s pursuing his own agenda in conflict with Obama’s. In other words, either Obama’s a fraud, or Ogletree’s disloyal. Personally I can’t figure out which.
