Please tell me this was sarcasm. There is no comparison to Obama's korps who is to be "as powerful as our military".

He isn’t referring to the NG, but a National police force on par with the US Military in funding, training and equipment.

To ensure our security. More like to take those who resist socialism to be re-educated or failing that to be executed as they did in Asia, NAZI Germany and the Soviet Union.

With O we are heading to open armed conflict in America or slavery.

He’s trying to create a “well regulated militia” so they can seize guns from the rest of us.. This will happen after they impose “fairness” on the airwaves.

“Sounds like something we already have- the National Guard.”

NO! The name National Guard is misleading.

The “National Guard” is each individual state’s military. When it is not operating under federal call up it is under the command of the governer of its state. When it is “federalized”, such as for duty in Iraq, it is under the command of the President but is also subject to posse comitatus. The posse comitatus act does NOT apply when under command of the governor. That is why a state can use their own National Guard for enforcement actions such as suppressing riots and looting and so on.

Obama’s federal force would answer only to him. Very dangerous to liberty.

HUGE difference.

YES! We already have the NATIONAL GUARD (the faithful, volunteer National Civilian Security Force that Obama cannot handpick with Ayers and his ilk for his own use.)

Didn’t you all see the recent story about how regular troops have been set up here as part of something called “northcom”? Part of its mission is to deal with “civil unrest” in the case of an “emergency”. Bush has amassed great powers to the presidency that our spineless Congress has not challenged, and the Dems will be only too happy to use it when they are in charge. This is why government, Republican or Dem, must be kept on a short leash. If you don’t believe me, look it up.

National Guard? You must be joking! They have no difference between broom and M-16.I’ve seen few of them in airports.
