The Obama tax hike: You may be pre-approved!
National Review ^ | November 01, 2008

The Obama middle-class limbo dance descends further. First, it was $250,000. Then $200,000. Just a couple of days ago, Joe Biden reduced it to $150,000.

And now...

$120,000?

I'm confident Senator Biden can cut that in half by Tuesday morning.

Bottom line: If you make over 30 grand, you might want to restructure yourself as an offshore corporation in the Turks & Caicos.

When the Sierra Club eco-lawyers closed logging, mining, commercial fishing, ranching...operations to save a rat, then the communities really suffered.”

Over 110 lumber mills were closed in N California alone due to the phoney problems with the spotted owl.

Those communities are still clinging to survive.

In the first full year after the Clintoon tax increases, my wife got a call from our friend, CPA, Tax accountant/advisor and sister church member.

She said that we were maxed out with our 401k’s, IRAs and had a mortgage, homeequity loan and of course property tax. We had no room to shelter our income. I was in the low 6 figure bracket and my wife, fortunately, was underpaid.

With the new Clintoon Taxes, our friend half jokingly suggested that we might be better off if my wife flew away for a quickie foriegn divorce. Let me keep the tax deductions and pay my wife’s small extra tax costs before the year closed.

Of course we didn’t do that, we had to hit the savings to pay the extra taxes. In Feb/Mar the next year I got a top sales bonus of $12,000. By the time the new Clintoon income taxes, SS taxes and no limit on medicare and Ca state taxes were deducted, I had less than $6k net.

After that the company and I worked out other legal ways to compensate a top performer.

That is my thought, also.

Great point, avacado. While McCain and Palin have done a good job pounding the “spreading the wealth around issue,” I haven’t seen much about the expiration of Bush’s tax cuts (maybe I just missed it?).

Further, while they incessantly talk about how $250K has slipped to $200K, then $150K, then $120K, they never mention at what point a single taxpayer would be considered “rich.” This is likely at a far lower income level and would have immense shock value, in my inexpert opinion. Further, it might help McCain out with younger voters with good jobs.

Moving offshore involves selling your house, all stocks, bonds and then buying 100 ounce bricks of platinum or gold, and packing your luggage full of those bricks.

The next step is to get on a cruise ship that’s going to make a stop in Panama, getting off for some sight seeing, and never getting back on the boat.

From then on, call yourself Juan or, even better, Jesus.

Nice! I want one.
Lots of times when I go into 7-11, Circle K, Starv’n Marvin for dinner, there's what look to me as cultural Obama supporters floating around, in and out. With that I could fight my way back from the Krispy Kreme cabinet, past the smoked sausage cook roller, get to the counter, get a large Slurppy(grape), pay and get to the truck and then finish my dinner in peace and quiet while listening to my mp3 files of Rush's Greatest Hits.

I know I’m pre-approved. At the beginning of the Bush administration my wife and I made less than half what we make now...and we got a tax cut from GWB. So, even if Obama is telling the truth about only smacking the rich with a tax hike, we will get a tax hike when he lets the Bush tax cuts expire.

But then, the other day when the numbers $150,000 and 120,000 were bandied about, I hared a commentator mention that at 150K, two married teachers from a major city school system would get a tax hike.

A new letter after Obama gets in (God Forbid!!):

You May be approved:

Dear Taxpayers:

Do you make more then our dear leader's half brother in Kenya? Do you have a car that runs on gas? Do you have food in your kitchen -- then you are approve for our new TAX measures.

YES, you are approved to help your neighbors -- even if the so-called neighbor lives in a hut in Kenya. If you make more then 10K a year your tax rate will be only at 20% (remember, it is for the COMMON GOOD), between 10-30K a year, you are lucky to pay only 30% - again, think about those less fortunate then you between 30 and 50K a rate of 47% - just think of the help you are doing, 50 to 100K a year -- just a small rate of 70% and you RICH people of 100K and Above (except LIBERALS in Hollywierd or LIBERALS Rich people like Warren Buffet- your tax will be lower.) and ABOVE 90%. Just think of the hurt you put on the little guys with your EVIL DOINGS!!

I especially love how the dems claim that they won’t be raising taxes. They’re simply going to let the tax cuts expire!

Sort of like you’re walking by a swimming pool, and you see that there’s a child drowning. And you see that there’s a life preserver right next to you. Well, if you’re a dem, you just keep on walking, since you didn’t push the kid into the water in the first place, and let him drown.

>>>You almost get the feeling Obama *wants* to drive this country into an economic dark age.<<<

Your feeling is on target. The Left succeeds in situations where the people are hammererd by war, economic collapse, and political turmoil. Throughout the process, Obama and his supporters will blame the Republicans, the right, the bigots, George W. Bush, the corporations... and when the system finally collapses, the Left will fill the vacuum with their own people and beliefs. If you think capitalism and American politics are expressions of oppression and imperialism, destroying it is actually seen as something positive.

Check out the rise of Marxism (and its bastard child, fascism) in places like Russia, Germany, Spain, China, Cuba, Venezuala, Italy.... in all cases, there was turmoil before the coup, and the turmoil was supported or outright sponsored by the Left itself.

God help us.

I guess I filter everything through my own eyes.

I can’t imagine destroying my country for power but then I’m not one of ~them~.

I tried to have faith it wouldn’t happen, at least not in my lifetime but apparently I’ve “lived too long” and will have a front row seat.

This can not be allowed to happen here.

God help us, indeed.

Actually this “smoke and mirrors stuff” is scarier then ever.

Look at it in RATSpeak. When the tax cuts are rescinded and those making 45k and up go into effect, Obama will say it wasn’t he who raised taxes. It was the Bush tax cut for the rich that expired. Then the media will sell that swill to the populace and they will bleat, “Yay Obama” for showing the nasty rich people how sensitive he is to the “middle class.”

Now add that to Bambis tax hike on those making 120k and above.

Double taxation.
