CHICAGO - For a few days last week, the weed-choked South Side block where Jennifer Hudson's family was killed became an oasis of safety in the nation's deadliest big city.
"If she wasn't famous, all of the media wouldn't be here," said Michelle Strickland, 23, standing near the hundreds of teddy bears piled in tribute. "The crime rate is really, really high here."
RELATED: POLICE: HUDSON'S NEPHEW LIKELY DIED IN SUV Cops parked in front of the white clapboard house, detectives worked the streets nearby and TV trucks shone spotlights into the dark - while the drug dealers, gang members and random gunmen who terrorize the Englewood neighborhood moved elsewhere.
"Before this happened, you could just stand out here at night and hear the gunshots all around," said one neighbor, who heard one shot the morning of the murders and thought nothing of it. "You just drive around and you see bears and bottles of liquor. Every time you see that, you know someone got killed there."
lovely
Mayor Daley’s response to all the murders is somewhat strange to the outsider. He seems to think that the publicity of the high murder rate diminishes Chicago’s ability to draw the Olympics to Chicago in 2012 (or whenever).
“There's no block safe right now because of the economic situation,” said Gary Chapple, 41, who moved from Englewood to the far South Side to escape the violence - and hopes a President Obama can help bring change to his hometown.
inother words we’ll just keep killing each other until Obama is president and the oceans start rising again
They need a Community Organizer.
I almost spit my coffee out ready that one.
I have found it so odd that Obama has planned his victory party for Chicago, especially with the numbers he’s expecting. Win or lose, it’s a recipe for disaster. Large group of people (I think they’re predicting one million), in an outside venue, at night...security is going to be a nightmare, much less crowd control and as I said, I see it as a problem if he wins or loses.
I’m sure the guy means that when the little o gets elected, he will REALLY get the guns off the streets.............How long has Chicago been a “gun free” city now?
So this is Obama’s track record? Looks like he’s done a splended job here! no? What you see in Chicago is what you are voting for and will get with an Obama presidency.
Obama is no different than an Al Sharpton or a Jesse Jackson, they steal taxpayer monies, extort monies from large corporations, not to help and support the impoverished in thier communities but to fill thier own pockets. African Americans taking advantage of African Americans and blaming it on racism in America. HYPOCRITES TEN FOLD
Damn!
It's worse than I had even imagined!

We had better pull out, it's a quagmire!
“
Chicago buried in murders
“
Well, Chicago’s Consummate Community Organizer promised CHANGE.
So here it is.
The leftists’ solution:
Pass a law making it illegal to publish crime stories in the newspapers.
Make it illegal to publish the race of the perpetrator, unless that person is white or Republican.
Cook the statistics.
LOL
cute..........
I wonder how many of the murderers have gone through Ayer’s and Obama’s radical reeducation process.
Haven't heard any more about it. Gee, wonder why...?
I never understood why Jennifer’s family, especially her mom, would continue living here after Jennifer’s success.
Obamination has a plan to start the draft, then he’ll take the angry youth of today and create a separate national security force. It’s his version of homeland security, only it will be made up of homemade terrorists.
