“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.” (Obama)
“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can”
It is becoming ever more difficult. They are trying to build one near me now. Between current regulators (environment impact statements ad nauseam), protects and litigation it is becoming “not worth the effort”. We have a lot of work to do, on many fronts, if we hope to remain a prosperous (not to mention free) nation.
It is awfully “convenient” that the one single resource that America has - coal - has been so thoroughly demonized via the “climate change” folks. Coal is extraordinarily versatile in that it can also be converted into gasoline and diesel fuels as well. Not cost effective at current price per-barrels, but it’s nice knowing the option - it’s there.
It’s also curious that prior administrations locked up high-quality coal at Utah - without even notifying anyone in Utah. Since the “securitization” of just about everything including real estate and credit cards has failed, it’s not too much of a stretch to conclude the government has long ago pledged, swapped, borrowed against federal resources for fun and profit, while maintaining a cloak of secrecy under the guise of “environmentalism” and “protecting the environment.”
