I live outside Chicago

I moved out of the Chicago area about 20 years ago, from
Lake County. I just cant understand what has happened to the
Illinois that I remember. How did this guy, 0bambi, ever get the
support from outside Cook County? My memories bring me back to a time
when we were RED.

What the Hell happened?

I grew up in cleveland...lots of immigrants who worked hard, were more american than americans...NOW???

guess the children grew up and raised children that have no clue as to why their grandparents fled other countries and were so grateful to be here.

Too many people in Illinois got used to the handout. Add in bad Republicans like George Ryan, and you end up with the Illinois we have today.

I live in McHenry County. In the 1980's, Azurelia Puchinski ran for a state-wide office and made a campaign stop in Woodstock. The local paper ran a headline; "Democrat visits McHenry County". We thought that was appropriate, because there weren't any Democrats living here.

Now there are so many they have a picnic every summer. (Not sure what government slush fund pays for the coleslaw).
