My friends, it's John McCain, live from New York, just three days before the election. Aides to the Republican presidential candidate said Friday that McCain will make a detour from battleground states to appear on "Saturday Night Live," the late-night show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.
Hosting the show this Saturday is actor Ben Affleck, a supporter of Democratic candidate Barack Obama. The musical guest is singer David Cook.

We used to watch it way back when, but are so old now we have even forgotten what alphabet letters carry it.
The National Barack Company.
I’m not a usual SNL’er but I do know tis on NBC @ 11:30pm EST.
hadn’t thought of rosie.. think olbermann is a little more disturbed than her.. but closest..
True. And he certainly had a better career in films.
Murphy had such "gems" as "Pluto Nash" and "Daddy Day Care." Those from the genius of "Raw." Sad.
That said, Chris Rock owes Eddie for his career.
Easily better.
I recall Dan Aykroyd and Steve Martin’s
“Two wild and crazy guys”...
Belushi’s “cheeseburger cheeseburger cheeseburger”...
“Jane you ignorant slut”.
The coneheads.
the bees.

Forgot about Larraine Newman, Chevy Chase falling, weekend update...
Man those were the days!
I’m on west coast time. Will you guess post what happens for those of us 3 hours behind you?
Yep - those were the days - and I remember them well.
Man, do I feel old or WHAT?!
No kidding. I was 12 when SNL started.
Bet it’s on YouTube before the West coast airing.
Now I REALLY feel old!!!!
Thanks for ruining my night - hahaha - I was a freshman in COLLEGE when SNL began....
...just kick me in the stomach why don’t you...:)
I’m convinced the first cast paved the way for the following casts, no doubt in my military mind about that.
And the initial cast overcame so much, of course some didn’t...Belushi died in his prime IMO.
Gilda Radner died too early. I still consider Aykroyd a huge star.
I don’t know, I guess it’s like saying which team was best the packers of the 60’s the steelers of the 70’s or the niners of the 80’s.
Glad to know you are both older than me:)
LOL! Sorry ;-)
I guess it’s all relative to the time and “good ol’ days” we’d had back then. SNL back then was fresh and novel - no doubt about it.
Yup, but in a way it seems like yesterday doesn’t it?
I think we can all agree it’s steadily gone downhill.
NBC always zaps it before I can view it. I’ve got to wait until NBC posts it on the SNL website or hulu — and they usually don’t do that until the next morning.
I’m off to the live thread if there is one.
it’s here
You are correct. I don’t know what I was thinking. Duh.
