My friends, it's John McCain, live from New York, just three days before the election. Aides to the Republican presidential candidate said Friday that McCain will make a detour from battleground states to appear on "Saturday Night Live," the late-night show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.
Hosting the show this Saturday is actor Ben Affleck, a supporter of Democratic candidate Barack Obama. The musical guest is singer David Cook.

You didn’t hear the “boo’s” when it started? A LOT of boo’s and then the “audience wranglers” got the cheers up a little bit.
Not mocking, it was well done. All good fun!
He goofed on his own running mate? WTF was he thinking?! Fey always plays Palin like a moron. Why would McCain allow that? I haven't seen the skit, so I'm just going off the info fragments you guys have provided.
He sure did!
And the audience got the jokes too: ten commeorative plates for the ten townhall meetings he had with Obama--all the plates are blank!
He got some great digs in there. SNL is behind Mac. Al Franken is howling at the moon and ripping his hair out as I type.
That was tough for Afflicted to endorse McCain even in jest.
The next generation of rotten movie "stars".
If it was, it did a somewhat poor job of mocking her.
I have to say, I have been very impressed with the willingness of McCain and Palin to pit themselves against the drive-by media wolves, The difference of the treatment of them and the treatment of Obama becomes that much more jarring and noticeable.
I didnt hear boos on my channel. You sound like you were describing the flyers hockey game Palin was at.
Code Pink & other protestors weren’t there tonight, sorry. They were no boos - none. I watched every second of it.
It was good. McCain looked good.
Wow, a View skit. This guy actually looks better and more cheerful than the real Joy B. haha
“The View” sketch.
making fun of ‘The View’ now
They’re gonna tear Elisabeth to pieces.
Thanks for the play-by-play, everyone.
Those of us in occupied territory (the Peoples Republic of California) won’t see this for another 3 hours...
Think I’ll watch. Thanks.
Still wish Palin was there. Though, from the sound of things, perhaps in a way she was... :)

“Palin 2012”
It was a poor imitation of a moron, if that’s what Fey was trying to do. It was a dead-on impression, complete with a reference to Palin’s chances for 2012...and I find it ironic that Fey said (as Sarah), “I’m not going away.”
Because it’s true! Palin’s got a big future in the GOP.
And for those who may not be watching, Cindy mac made a sweet cameo appearance and was well received, too.
Affleck as Baldwin. Fitting.
This thing on The View is pretty funny.
