If there are any lawsuits or indictments, they can provide evidence...
In the meantime, we have the election to work on...
This particular story could backfire on Obama and Murtha, and other races that the Democrats might now be winning but could lose with negative publicity like this...
There should be a way to capture people who view the story, and who they are (on the Internet). That technology should exist...There is. Every computer on the Internet has a number called an "IP Address". These numbers aren't exactly unique, but if you know the IP address you can trace it back to the ISP that provides the Internet access, and if you also know the date and time the ISP can trace it back to a particular subscriber. This assumes they weren't accessing the site from some free Internet access (like a coffee shop) or using some commonly available technologies that obscure the IP address of the person accessing the site.
That said, what good would it do you? I checked out The Stranger earlier today, as I'm sure many here have. Do you want the government knocking on the doors of everyone who looked at some random web site? Even if it were effective, that's not a power I would want the government to have without a warrant.

It immediately disappeared.

Good updates to this thread!!!
But then Matt Drudge pulled his link, and a liberal newspaper was posting a link to Drudgereport -- boosting Matt Drudge's hits at a time when one the most visible stories was about:
Obama's Auntie is Illegal Alien living in Boston Slums...
ottom line: Liberal newspaper was hurting Obama with that link... (At the time...)
I live in the Seattle area and saw a dark-skinned guy walking down a quiet residential street with a large camera. He was trying to keep it covered with his hand from the rain. I thought it was a bit odd and thought he might me documenting McCain houses. But, there is a last bit of fall colors on the trees so I figured that might have been it too (but - it was raining pretty good).
And then tonight I read this article.
I know I’m paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?!
There is a way to do that, validly and correctly...
It is possible/probable that the FBI has requested local resources (local police/state police/etc) to protect these homes. I really do...
I believe that this has helped to protect the folks who were victimized by this insane newspaper.
As for the people at the newspaper, there may be criminal indictments or lawsuits in the coming months. They have put themselves under the microscope...
I think the people at TheStranger.com may eventually have this catch up with them.
Freepers have been sharing information about the people at this newspaper. I would not be surprised to see that this backfires on The Obama-Biden campaign -- especially with the undecided vote.
My thread (this thread) has had over 3000 hits. Matt Drudge probably had logged 300,000 hits or more on the article.
And then Newsbusters.org and others may be logging more and more hits.
The Editor of the newspaper's photo has appeared on a number of websites...
