Granted, but unless they turned Obama's "eight years of Bush" around, then I haven't missed the last two weeks.

I did hear a sound bite from Obama that said something like "you shouldn't ask if you're better off then you were four years ago...". A vague acknowledgment that the economy during the first six years under Bush and the GOP congress weren't too bad? One can hope.
