Whoa, now. If she is here illegally, and if she is living in a subsidized home (paid for by the American taxpayer), then she is a problem. And she is in a subsidized apartment (paid for by the American taxpayer) that should be available to an elderly and/or handicapped American. The waiting lists for these places are usually a mile long.
It may be that she is a lovely and deserving lady, but she is here illegally. And there are thousands of lovely and deserving Americans who can't get past the huge waiting lists to get into a subsidized apartment.
What makes her more deserving than an American citizen or a legal immigrant?
If she is here illegally, then it appears that she jumped ahead in a very long line to get her piece of the pie. And that just isn't right.
I agree with you in principal. However, IMO demanding her deportation, while justified, is not the way to help win the election on Tuesday.
The only reason Obama is competitive right now is that he, his handlers and the media have woven a curtain of lies around him, creating a false image in the minds of a gullible public. We have struggled terribly to tear down that curtain.
That false image is Obama’s center of gravity, a single pillar upholding the rest of his candidacy.
This story, highlighting his lack of personal compassion and charity, attacks that pillar, as few other stories have.
Demanding the deportation of his aunt does not attack that pillar, however justified by the law.
