Reading some of the other comments I can only assume, they dislike babies and people of disabilities.
You are close, but it goes further...
The hardcore leftist is always, ALWAYS a middle class or above person who hates themselves and simply projects that onto most things around them.
It’s why they are primitivists, pro-homosexual, pro-arbortion, pro-Muslim, pro-Soviet, etc. Anything that is not them is somehow magically hip, smart, unassailable and right. Anything that resulted in them - freedom, family, love, decency, capitalism, America - they reflexively hate. Their backgrounds often include divorce, too. They are largely unhappy people, some of them profoundly miserable.
Our arguments against communism, that it results in widespread corruption, murder and misery, don’t sway them at all. That is the appeal to them. Publicly, they tell you all sorts of things aimed at swaying sane people. Privately, their true opinions and ideals come out. You see that in Obama and in ‘Wonkette’, the disgusting ‘Where’s Daddy?’ liberal who once served as John Edwards’ lead blogger. What she has said about Jesus I can’t even print here. Disgusting and hateful. And I’m not a religious man at all.
