Definitely in bad taste, and sad.
Well, we are not exactly talking about mental giants here, just baseball players.
Big time thumbs down.
I lost respect for him. It certainly tainted an otherwise great celebration. The TV/radio stations are apologizing for his tasteless remark.
I'm shocked!
Has anything like this ever happened before?
who?
Who?
No probably about it. Sad commentary on the lack of civility in our society. We tell our children that only the ignorant use that type language.
That is used for every other word by baseball players. It’s disgusting. I think they are just used to being around guys all the time and they forget that in real life you shouldn’t be using it constantly! Actually no one should use it!
Too bad for the kids. Thousands of parents were letting their kids watch this celebration and some idiot has to let his foul mouth run wild. Once again we have proof that being in the limelight doesn’t endow a person with strength of character.
“Probably in bad taste, but very, very funny.”
I have to say, I really don’t get what’s so funny about it. It’s like those comedians who throw out the “f” word at every opportunity. There’s a certain class of people who laugh uproariously at this every single [bleepin’] time. And I’m watching it on TV (briefly, before changing channels) and thinking, this so-called “comedian” is really pitifully unfunny. In fact, the ONLY thing the audience seems to be laughing at are the profane outbursts; they are thriving on it.
Have they never heard that particular word before? It seems like hearing that word for the bajillionth time in your life would tend to, you know, dull your enthusiasm for it a bit? But no, people still laugh and cheer.
This guy is “just a baseball player,” so apparently we are supposed to give him a pass. But I’m sorry, “crudity as the new normalcy” still saddens me.
There are very, very few good role models anymore.
By the time I was finished being surprised, I have to admit that I thought it was funny.
Digusting with all the young kids in the stadium
What a classless idiot and I am a Phillies fan from the burbs
