MLK Jr Close Relative will not vote/support Obama!!!
Freeper Exclusive | October 31, 2008 | Vanity

Who would Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., vote for in this election? Would it be Obama?

The niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., in telling her grandparents about abortion, found out how strongly they objected to her two abortions.

Her web page seems to speak for the King family by its name: www.KingForAmerica.com She also has authored a book about her father (A. D. King) and her uncle Martin (MLK Jr.), namely Sons of Thunder.

In a sense, Dr. Alveda King made it clear her position to Democratic politicians in Denver during the Democratic Convention. She was speaker at a prayer vigil at an abortion clinic that Archbishop Chaput of Denver attended. (For more on this story, see Archdiocese of Denver to hold prayer vigil at largest abortion facility in U.S.

The parents of Martin Luther King, Jr., were strongly opposed to abortion. They could not support a strongly pro-abortion candidate for president -- even if that person is the first African-American candidate of a major party (Democrat or Republican).

Dr. Alveda King, like Martin Luther King, Jr., is a pastor and an activist for just causes. Just as MLK, Jr., has fought for Civil Rights, Alveda has fought for the rights of the unborn.

Alveda refers to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as "Uncle Martin".

An interesting question is who Martin Luther King (III) will vote for this election. He is a man of integrity like his father Martin Luther King, Jr., or is he like the wishy-washy politicians that will prostitute themselves to get something they want.

If Martin Luther King III decides to vote for Obama, he may saddened his departed father and grandparents by such a vote.

Such a vote for Obamais for the continued killing of African-American children -- at a rate much than those of white or Hispanic children.

Abortion among African-Americans is 40%. For people of other races it is only 30%.

One this account, Congressman John Lewis of Georgia has betrayed the African Americans of the United States. He has been a staunch supporter of abortion -- even though he fought for Civil Rights in the 1960's.

This is hypocracy for Congressman John Lewis.

Will Martin Luther King (III) follow the hypocracy of Congressman John Lewis of Atlanta or will he follow in the work of his cousin Alveda King.

Maybe the major media should ask Dr. Alveda King and Martin Luther King (III) where they stand in terms of who they vote for president.

Will vote based on race and against principles? Or will they vote based on principles and not vote for Obama?

At the time of the Democratic Convention in August, Dr. Alveda King and Archbishop Chaput of Denver were part of a prayer rally outside an abortion clinic at the time of the Democratic National Convention. They were sending a clear message to pro-abortion politicians that abortion is wrong!!!

From my personal dealings with Alveda, the parents of Martin Luther King Jr. were solidly against abortion.

Yes. His parents. Not him. His parents were Fundamentalists. He was not. I doubt very seriously that MLKJr. would have been any more pro-life than his widow and children turned out to be.

Dr. Alveda King is a Democrat and Liberal. That is clear if you visit your website...

She's also a born-again chr*stian.

The head of Priests for Life, Father Frank Pavone, had as his heroes Mohatma Ghandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.

So clearly, without the pro-life question, he would probably lean more to the left than where he stands now...

A party that espoused economic liberalism and social/moral conservatism would be unbeatable. Our two parties insist on halving this program.

Considering the Iranian Nuclear threat to Israel, the enemy of your enemy is your friend. Otherwords, those opposed to Obama based on pro-life convictions will aid Israel...

I hope we can agree that Obama will be bad for the USA and Israel, as well as many unborn babies.

That is why Gianna Jessen so strongly opposes Obama through Born Alive Truth.org

I was in no sense condemning Ms. King. I merely stated my belief that she is atypical of the thoroughly liberal King family (due to her born again status) and remarked it is a shame that MLKJr's religious beliefs cannot be discussed in the same way as Thomas Jefferson's.

MLK was a Republican. I heard him speak years ago in Chicago - there’s no way he would back Obama.

MLK was a Republican.

And MLK was a friend of Robert Kennedy.

Robert Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan.

Obama’s friend - Bill Ayers - the friend who helped Obama kick off his political carreer in the living room of his house - dedicated a book he wrote to Sirhan Sirhan.

The book was also dedicated to every cop killer in the country at the time the book was published.

MLK believed in non-violence. The Chicago civil rights movement didn’t even attend MLK’s speech in ‘64. They already thought they were better than MLK.

I don’t think he would have like Rev. Wright or Obama.

I did not hear that... Thanks

In a sense, this thread is an attempt to stir controversy -- in favor of McCain-Palin...

The Philadelphia article just confirms what I am saying...

It leaves unanswered, however, where Martin Luther King III stands. By not taking a strong stand and the correct stand, he will dishonor his father...

That is also part of the controversy of this thread -- where does Martin Luther King III stand and what does he stand for...

This thread is also about not voting for someone because you are white and the person is white, and not voting for someone because you are black and the person is black...

It raises that issue in my mind...

Welcome to Freerepublic!!!

We have some strange terms that are based on typos...

For example, in a Breaking News thread, someone meant to type serious. They typed series by accident and it is used as humor in threads.

By the same token, someone was trying to emphasis that something really had huge implications, but they typed hugh by accident...

So you might see these and think they are mistakes...

They are more terms that Freepers use...

We may be a bad example for spelling for children...

Wow!!!

On my way home after posting this from the Public Library (its there, use it), I had an overflight of F-16's.

They must have been the Thunderbirds...

This thread may fail to get as many votes away from Obama and for McCain as I may like, but it was a great blessing to have an overflight of F-16's making tight low turns (200 feet or less!!!

I am impressed!!!

Ping

Could you use your ping lists for this thread...

It is somewhat old news, but maybe people will sent this out as emails: "Martin Luther King, Jr. close relative will not vote/support Obama but supports/votes McCain/Palin"...

Maybe if people realize a close relative of Martin Luther King, Jr., will not vote/support Obama, it might change some votes...

There is also the article where Dr. Alveda King comes out in favor of McCain/Palin...

There is the Freerepublic article:

Alveda King, Niece of Martin Luther King Jr, endorses McCain-Palin

That goes to the Philadelphia Inquirer article Black Leaders Support McCain

Excerpt from that article is:

...

But the most recognizable name is Dr. Alveda King, director of African-American Outreach, Gospel of Life Ministries, a niece of Dr. Martin Luther King.

"I am very excited about the McCain-Palin ticket, simply because they support the values that mean the most to me," Ms. King said. "It is a plus to me that Sarah Palin is a woman because I've been elected to office as a wife and mother. I've been appointed to office as a woman and at the time I was a mother and became a grandmother."

Ms. King said her experience taught her she could both be a good mother and still serve the public. This is something she has in common with Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, McCain's running mate.

However, the most important reason she is backing the McCain-Palin ticket is its commitment to the pro-life cause.

ping --

If news of Alveda King supporting McCain-Palin and not being able to support Obama/Biden reaches people, then it might turn more votes -- especially in swing states...

This one is too close... Anyway to get votes will help...

And if riots start, Alveda King might help relax the African-American community...
