A vote for Franken is a vote for women

To the Editor:

While the tide of enthusiasm for the Obama/Biden ticket is surging and with good reason, the Senate race in Minnesota remains a little more complicated, even for some people of otherwise reliably Democratic persuasion.

Al Franken was not my first choice for the DFL’s endorsement. There was another very strong candidate, without Al’s name recognition but also without his baggage of previous misogynist writings. But once Al won the endorsement, I realized he needs our total commitment in getting Norm Coleman out of office, especially for the sake of women.

he website www.votesmart.org (“the voter’s self-defense system”, a non-partisan site) has interest group ratings based on voting records of lawmakers around the country.

It shows that Coleman supported the interests of Concerned Women for America only 60 percent of the time in 2007-08. The League of Women Voters gives him a rating of 38 percent. He has a zero percent rating on pro-choice issues and only 12 percent from National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association.

Thanks, Fran. I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time.

So because he’s eager to have unborn babies killed, a vote for him is a vote for women? It’s an insult to women of integrity, pro-life women.

More proof of the battered wife syndrome. “I realized he needs our total commitment...” If I only love him enough I know he’ll change. How sad.

Al can provide a particularly graphic description of your boobs, Fran, as he has for other women. I’m sure you’d appreciate that.

I don’t know this district very well. Would Franken be the first woman elected to that post?

What mystifies me is that nearly half the folks of Minnesota are seemingly going to vote for this boob.
Come on Minnesotans, can that many of you be that stupid?
Do you really want an assclown to represent you?
Can’t you just stay with below average crooks like the rest of us?
