> Running up the national debt is not “keeping this country safe,”
Fighting asymmetrical warfare against a shadowy foe half-way ‘round the globe AS WELL AS amongst the US population is, of a necessity, an expensive proposition. The US must have taken a HUGE productivity hit as a direct result of 9/11: that has to have had some effect on your national debt, for sure.
On all of it? I dunno — I’m not an economist. Bush has been a really good war-time President IMO and History is likely to judge him kindly, just as it has (rightfully) with St Reagan. I can recall all sorts of nasty things said about him during and after his two terms, almost until his death. Now? It is difficult to find anyone who will say a bad thing about Ronald Reagan.
Too early to judge GWB’s eight years harshly, IMO. And (God Forbid!) if Obama becomes your next President, GWB is going to look like a Genius by comparison.
Thank you. I've grown so weary of so much criticism and so few kind words for the President.
