I love this! Who needs the tape? Just suggest that Obama did things on the tape that are far worse than what he actually did. And then the fact that the tape is being kept secret merely amplifies those suspicions in the minds of Americans.

That makes it a kind of win-win situation for them. As long as the LAT won’t release the tape, they can speculate as to what it would show.

I was thinking the same thing — the more this videotape thing is bandied about yet not released, the more the speculation grows.

I wanted the tape released yesterday, but have since changed my mind after another FReeper made the point that we would probably get a heavily-edited tape now. I like the idea of the transcript published, the words are likely plenty inflammatory even if we don't hear the tone/level, just reading what was said, knowing that 0bama was sitting there the whole time, did not get up and leave, made no critical rebuttal. And a list of attendees must be included with that transcript as well.

Regardless it gets released or not, by refusing to do so the way they have, the LA Times has shown itself to be most definitely in the tank for 0bama.
