We all know that MSM reporters arent the sharpest crayons in the box, but not knowing how to use the phone book is dumber than I gave any of them credit for.

Especially, it happened in Joe’s neighborhood. All the reporter had to do was to go the neighborhood, ring a few door bells and find Joe.
But NOOoooooo, the reporter has to break the law in order to get Joe’s info. The reporter should be named as well because he/she asked the clerk to break the law.
The reporter was after more than the address, the clerk is lying.
If I had to bet, I’d say there is no reporter. My guess is she was doing this at the request of someone in the Obama campaign.
The “address lookup” excuse makes no sense, for reasons you mention. It would make sense, though, if someone suggested that an admission of being improperly helpful with an address is far superior to being nailed for an illegal criminal records search. She’d be reprimanded but not incarcerated. And, of course, then well-compensated for her loyalty.
