If that was true, that would have been their first response to the request that the video be made public rather than their dismissive shove it reply.

I don't know. Maybe they wanted to prevent people from trying to find out who gave them the tape in hopes of changing his/her mind. Of course, people are still trying to figure out who it was. If they just made up the thing about the person asking to not have the video shown as to protect his ID, wouldn't they run the risk of this person popping up and saying "hey, I didn't say that!". It seems pretty clear that the guy does NOT want the video shown, otherwise, he could send copies to Fox News or somebody else.

I'm afraid, somebody may have to put up a reward for the video. Remember the Mel Gibson movie where his son was kidnapped and he went on TV and instead of agreeing to pay the ransom, he said he'd pay it to whoever caught the kidnappers? Maybe Rush or someone like that could so something similar. Imagine this...Rush goes on the air at 1 PM tomorrow and says he is giving it 24 hours for this video to show up...somehow...someway. If it doesn't show up, he's putting up a ONE MILLION DOLLAR reward to the person that produces the video, EXCEPT for the person who had the tape to begin with. In other words, Rush would be telling this guy, you better give up the tape NOW or everyone who knows you and about the tape will be after it.
