Pete hamill shouldn’t even be writing for a living. A decade or so ago, he was caught red-handed making up a character out of whole cloth. he claimed he had interviewed a guy who lived in an apartment directly underneath the Cyclone roller coaster at Coney Island.
Guy didn’t exist. Apartment didn’t exist. Story was total BS.
Newsday axed him as a result, but the Daily News’ standards are apparently low enough to seat him at a terminal.
Maybe Hamill is the founder of a new Obama action group: Fabulists for the Fraud.
This is Denis Hamill who is Pete Hamill’s brother. Same rotten tree, though.
