They want to go to the rock concert but when the rock star isn’t at the polling place they are less likely to show up.
EXACTLY!
The two most reliable voting blocks (in terms of showing up to vote) are Jewish and older. The "youth vote" get all excited when the star is in town but quickly lose interest. They have grown up on video games and other forms of instant gratification.
Let the dhims register everyone between 18 and 30 and then count the number that actually showed up to vote.
I'm in the 50 and older crowd and I'm certainly voting!

I was once part of the vaunted Youth Vote!

While in college, I was truly, truly committed to voting for the great Hubert H. Humphrey.

However, in early November, I was abducted by a roaming band of scalawags who forced me to attend a 3 day kegger which unfortunately encompassed election day.

Let's not forget that there are also lots of new youth voters who are conservative. As wave after wave of home-schooled kids enter the voting population (at least 100,000 per year based on 2003 homeschool total of 1.1 million students), we have a new wave of mostly-conservative, patriotic, committed voters who take their civic responsibilities seriously.

My 18-year-old son is one of those who is voting for the first time next week, and there are many more like him.
