Election punditry sometimes comes from strange places. On CNN, it came from a former professional basketball player with a liberal point of view.
Charles Barkley, a former NBA most valuable player, who is now an analyst for TNTs basketball coverage appeared on CNNs Oct. 27 Election Center to lend his insight on voter behavior.
Barkley noted that polls indicate Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama has a large lead, but said they are useless because the Bradley effect is a real polling phenomenon.
I think the polls are absolutely useless, I do, Barkley said. Seriously, most people who are racist, theyre not going to answer the question correctly, either on the phone call or on camera. So I 100 percent believe the polls are flat-out useless. I think this race is going to be neck and neck, down to the wire.

When did Charles Barkley become an election expert? He USED to be a Republican too. I wouldn’t believe a word he said! He blows with the wind!
He’s right “the polls are useless”. I dont think lying to pollsters has anything to do with being racist, I think it’s all the “in-your-face” thuggery people are afraid of.
Also, I dont know what the impact was of Rush’s Operation Chaos. Obviously, dems are grossly oversampled.
There is a tendency among the notorious to equate notoriety with intelligence.
I guess Charles has forgotten that he is known for his ability to “dribble” not his ability to produce “drivel”. He should stick to what he knows.
The Dean of Dumb has spoken.
The mound round of rebound was a conservative until he started working for TNT( Ted Turner).........
The Obama effect is the creation of racists where there were no racists.. The fact 97+ percent of blacks are voting for the Kingfish(Obama) speaks racism strongly.. The Obama effect creates both black AND white racists..
Hubby and I were doing our parent duties on Saturday and having to drive all over town toting children to and fro. While we were on the “white” and “nice” side of town, we saw two Prius(es). Both had Obama stickers. On Sunday, we ventured to nicer areas again and saw two more Prius(es) with Obama stickers. Then we went to Lowe’s on our side of town. (We live on the South side with the great unwashed. heh.) Anywho, there was a Prius in the parking lot, parked away from the rest of the vehicles. I walked across several vacant rows of parking spaces and walked around the Prius to see if there were any Obama stickers. Amazingly, there were not. So we saw 6 Prius(es) in two days, 5 of them had Obama stickers. 1 had no sticker and was on the South side of town. The only time I’ve seen Obama stickers on our side of town has been when some pointy-headed liberal has driven by us. I’ve seen very few campaign signs for either candidate on our side of town. Mostly, campaign signs around here are for local elections. But we’re in Arizona, so not a lot of effort is being made by either candidate.
That’s like the sick laugh urge I get when I hear somebody talk about “paying for” tax cuts.
Careful...he will spit on you if you disagree with him.
