“There is no question that there is a rift between Sarah Palin’s Conservative Base camp and that of John McCain’s RINO Faction inside the Republican campaign, sources tell ABC News.”
One thing looks certain to me. The “true conservative” faction can’t win in most places, WITHOUT your so called rino faction. In other words, you need their votes.
So if name calling makes you feel better, so be it, but it doesn’t alter the situation.
I read a long article about the home mortgage saga, and just who were the congress members that consistently, from the start, made warnings. They were almost all what you label rinos. Shays, McCain, Leach, Hagel, Dole, Sununu, Martinez and few others.
Notably absent were any of the hallmark “true conservatives.”

Republicans and conservatives need all the votes they can get, including independents and some democrats. However people resent being called names.
The democrats have become unified towards the goal of winning elections.
The GOP should find a way to do so as well. A lot of ground has been lost, during the Bush administration. This leaves a lot of ground to make up.
*The democrats have become unified towards the goal of winning elections.*
Republicans need to do the same.
Where the real dividion is, the third party folks on FR who try to demoralize Republicans.
They would rather have a Marxist as President than someone with an 82% conservative voting record.
