DENVER (Map, News) - Some Colorado Democrats are starting to sweat after the state released numbers showing that mail ballots and early voting in key counties are not what they expected.
The latest figures from the secretary of state's office, compiled before Democrat Barack Obama's Sunday rallies in Colorado, showed that 22 percent of Democratic voters in Denver who received mail ballots have sent them back. In contrast, 26 percent of Republicans who received mail ballots have returned them.
In Adams County, a quarter of registered voters from both parties returned their ballots, and in Pueblo, 20 percent did.
Mike Melanson, campaign manager for Democratic Senate candidate Mark Udall, said he's worried that Democratic voters have become complacent because polls show their candidates ahead. He said if voters wait until later in the week to mail their ballots, those ballots might not get to county clerks before the deadline at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
life is always a struggle on the democrat plantation.

And remember that Dems tend to vote early and Reps tend to vote at the polls.
Not in CA, especially in the last 20 years. Many friends and co-workers who I know are registered REP vote absentee.
Home 6 and my ballots went in the box last week in Colorado Springs - hand carried in case the USPS unionized mailman might not like our yard sign and ensure sloooow delivery.
They think the 0bama rally had an impact on voting? Hard to believe.
Didn’t I read something also saying that their claims of 100,000 at the great savior’s rally were impossible because the venue they were in only held 34,000?? No surprise they will lie, make stuff up, and propagandize. That will be the case for 4 years. They’re better at this stuff than the Clintons.
I wonder if some dems think that the polls are counted as votes for them—they don’t actually have to turn in their ballot—or maybe it needs to be postmarked by Nov. 4?
In Iowa and surrounding states they still follow the old formula for the most part. So if you see any articles about Dems voting heavy out this way discount it.
What? Are there no cemeteries?
Just spit on my keyboard when I read that, LOL! You are right, they think it is just like mailing their taxes, counts if it is postmarked on election day.
Why am I not surprised?
My theory about Obama’s aire of inevitability has been that it will produce complacency among the Dems, especially if they (the Dem voters, younger voters specifically) have to go out of their way, or wait in a line, or inconvenience themselves in anyway in order to vote.
Our son’s a graduate assistant at a university and proctors several classes. He thinks the expectation that there will be a huge youth vote turnout is a joke. Student’s are forever missing classes, even on test days because it just wasn’t convenient or they wanted to sleep in (and these are classes they’re paying big bucks per credit hour for.) He says if they go to the polling place and see a long line, especially if the expectation is that an Obama win is inevitable, they’ll just leave, i.e. there’s not a lot of discipline and perserverance shown by this group.
In that regard, inflated polls may have been a good thing.
Hope your right about this. So funny.
I've wondered if just this dynamic mightn't appear.
If a segment of the population is told over and over and over how horrible our system is (and they believe it) then why would they feel the need to participate in democracy?
Furthermore, they have surely heard about the Marxist Obama/Acorn vote fraud.
And, they have surely heard the inflated polls.
Why vote when the polls show that the Dems are already ahead, and that Obama's buds are voting for you anyway?
.
Hey, you never know.
LOL! It is always very dangerous to try and suppress the turnout of your opposition, it could backfire, and early indicators are that a backfire is in the works. Oh boy Nov 4 will be fun!
We just need to do our part and show up and vote and pray.
Did my part.
Mickey Mouse and the Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line have been too busy to vote.
I usually don’t take joy in the misery of others, but McCain winning and seeing the look on the face of that arrogant bastard Obama and his shills in the media would put a smile on my face for months.
And I will spend months emailing/writing to every left wing “journalist” who engaged in journalistic malpractice to rub it in and to laugh at them.
