At the risk of committing the same sins which ought to embarrass Kathleen Parker, I can only conclude that this is a female thing that so antagonizes a woman who purports to be a conservative. Perhaps not fair to say that she's become unhinged but the following paragraph proves that she's utterly departed logic:
Recognizing oneself in a member of the opposite sex (or the same sex, as the case may be) is a powerful invitation to bonding. Narcissus fell in love with his own image reflected in the river, imagining it to be his deceased and beloved sisters. In McCains case, it doesnt hurt that his reflection is spiked with feminine approval.
Ms. Parker, just how many people do you think you can actually convince that McCain picked Palin out of sexual narcissism? No one believes that John McCain is so confused that he sees himself to have any physical resemblance to Sarah Palin. Your entire construct is so absurd as make yourself the fool.
There is however another explanation to explain Kathleen Parker's behavior. She is making a name for herself and she sees a season when maverick conservatives may even become a special pet of the rest of the media in the age of Obama. It's as good a career choice as any for a female columnist on the make.
Ms. Parker either you are a fool or you are a damn cynic and a worse, someone who had turned against her own for personal advantage.
