If this is real, why haven't the authorities named names? Who are these "neo-nazi skinheads" and what is the chance that these guys, who had planned to steal guns, then target an African American School and go on a killing spree would have even gotten to first base?

Nobody in their right minds robs a gun store. And almost nobody is ever successful in doing so. These guys would have been dead before they had an opportunity to say, "this is a stick up." These guys apparently didn't even own a gun, which means that they did not have the means to pull off the first part of their plot, much less finish it.

The photos are linked from the LA Times archive of August 2008 so I think you’re right.

Those are the suspects from the "Denver" "plot" back in August. There are only two suspects in this case. IOW, the pictures are a red herring.
