Why? What could possibly be on that certificate that is so bad as to warrant hiding it? Even if his name is Saddam Hussein Obama it won’t have any more of an effect than his current names does. Even if his father is not who he says it is. Even if it says he’s adopted. ANYTHING is better than not having one, which seems to be the issue. I could be wrong, but I just don’t see the contents of any certificate as being detrimental.
Not so bad as to hide it, so damning as to protect it from crazy Obama supporters in clerks’ offices who may have access to it. It also protects privacy laws if it is illegal to release it except to a family member or by court order (ie, someone in aforementioned clerk’s office ‘leaking’ it.)
