Here's the photo and the caption:
Eula Criswell, of Denver, listens to the National Anthem during the Early Vote for Change Rally with Barack Obama at Civic Center Park in downtown Denver, CO. Criswell said she was going to vote immediately following the rally.
Too often they have a ‘star’ sing the anthem in some unsingable fashion. That doesn’t help.
Her eyes are closed and her glasses aren’t in place.
I think I just snorted up a lung. Thanks— post of the day!
Do you put your hand over your heart when the National Anthem is sung or when the Pledge of Allegiance is said. I always thought it was the Pledge -don’t think I’ve ever put my hand over my heart when the Anthem was sung. Am I wrong?
Hand on heart, headgear off during the anthem.
“I’m not sure if early voting places are open on Sunday in CO. (I looked at a list on the Denver Post website and it looks like Denver only allows it on Mondays)”
They probably told her she doesn’t even have to show up to Early Vote, it’ll be taken care of for her. Multiple times.
