The Presidential Election of 2008 will mark the end of the Eastern wing of the Republican Party.

I don't know about that, but I do know that it is way past time for a different method of scheduling state primaries. I think random computer selection would be great.

Random computer selection for primaries?

Hell no, what we need is simultaneous primaries on a single day, just like voting. That would end the multiple months of news coverage, the nonstop campaigning, and the glee of all the bluebloods and bratty college kids who view politics as some kind of fascinating sport instead of something you’d like to ignore if it weren’t constantly making your life more difficult and expensive.

Have the parties’ candidates announced officially on, say, January 4th, the primary votes in every state on June 4th, and the national election on November 4th.
