Cunningham's a rock-ribbed conservative with a strong, independent libertarian streak. I think his anger stems from frustration that America may elect this Marxist demagogue, and that McCain has had so many opportunities teed up for him that he's failed to exploit.
McCain reminds me of the old heavyweight journeyman prize fighter who finally gets his shot at the belt against the young loud-mouth. He knows this kid can't trade blows with him, and he knows that if he pressures him, corners him and unleashes a barrage of punches, he can knock out the punk. The fight starts, Obama dances, ducks, dives, while McCain stalks him, with his right fist cocked the entire fight, but never thrown.
McCain spat upon Bill. Do you remember that early rally that Bill opened for? The one where he said “Hussein”? McCain denounced him. Cunningham told Mc to stuff it.
