Apparantly half of the country according to the polls. Now it is my understanding that ELECTED OFFICIALS are the will of the people and do not have to have any security clearances. And Bush has had both McCAin and Obama to national security meetings..go figure.

Well, here’s the good news. Consider that because they aren’t subject to security clearances (I know, seems ludicrous), presidents likely don’t get black program top secret military clearances. So BHO’s promise to cut specific defense programs and militarization of space would be tough to do, if he won’t be granted access to most of what the military is working on currently. So maybe we should be grateful he can’t get a security clearance, and therefore maybe he’ll never know about some of the most important defense strategies going on behind the “wall.” LOL...I love our military. Defend the constitution against ALL enemies, foreign or domestic (even if it’s the president!)

Candidates have been given the equivalent of the president's daily brief for 30 or 40 years.(In fact it may date back to Eisenhower & Stevenson!)
They are vetted for this information by the act of winning office.
Character matters !
It matters who we elect to office, oh I forgot....it doesn't we elected Clinton twice!
