Although many have criticized Barack Obama as inexperienced, there is one area in which he must be acknowledged as a master: the use of the half-truth. So many examples . . . which to choose?

Half-truth? What half-truth? When he opens his mouth he lies.
This is very true, and the McCain campaign has not been nearly nimble enough to call Obama on these deliberate distortions. What appears to have stuck in most voters’ minds is that “John McCain will tax your health benefits” instead of the truth, which is that under McCain’s plan, 95% of Americans will pay less for health benefits than they do now.
The second “truth” that McCain’s campaign should have hammered home is that Obama knowingly seeks to deceive voters when he engages in half-truths. Bill Clinton left office with a well-deserved reputation for being an “accomplished liar.” Had voters known in 1992 what they came to know by 2001, it’s not at all clear Clinton would have been elected. Obama makes Clinton look like a piker in the lying department.
