To make a case of this significance work you have to have a solid foundation in precedents.

Is not the decision in the Goldwater cases precedents? Not all of them were tossed out for lack of standing (were any?). They were decided on the merits of the cases -- whether or not Arizona territory (not yet a state) counted for natual-born citizen status.

Damages and “associational” standings were found.
