McCain warns against Democratic takeover

ALBUQUERQUE (Reuters) - Republican presidential nominee John McCain on Saturday raised the prospect of a complete Democratic takeover of Washington as a reason to elect him over Democrat Barack Obama in 10 days.
...
At an Albuquerque rally, McCain accused the Illinois senator of seeking to raise taxes on most Americans, particularly small businesses responsible for much of the hiring during a severe economic downturn in which hundreds of thousands of jobs have been shed.
...
McCain said having Democrats in control of the White House, the U.S. House of Representatives under Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and the Senate under Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, would give Democrats unfettered power.
...
"Ten days to go, we're a few points down, and the pundits of course as they have four or five times have written us off," McCain said. "And you know what, my friends? They forgot one thing. They forget to let you decide ... We love being the underdog and we're going to win."

The killer paragraph:
Riding Americans' desire for a change from the Bush administration, Democrats appear poised to make major gains in the House and Senate.

Riiiight. Americans are so thrilled with the RATS at 9% approval, we want to give them complete and total control. Huh?

I wish McCain would knock off the "my friends" shtick. It sounds 100% disingenuous.

Way to go McCain. This is only about three months too late.

Good job!

The seeds for a Dem takeover were planted along time ago.

What d’you suppose the Dems and DBM would've done with this pitch 3 months ago?

Three months might as well be ten years to the legions of nit wits we've got out there.

Unfortunately, many--and I daresay most Americans have no idea that the Democrats have been in control of Congress, not just for the last two years in the majority, but in the last 8 by way of obstruction.

Try asking your friends and family. Chances are, they have no idea who Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid are muchless Charlie Rangel and the rest of the Democrat scum criminals who are presently "in charge"

I can tell you what they’re going to do now. They’re just going to say that McCain is desperate and wildly slinging whatever crap he has left in the arsenal hoping something will stick.

If he had started hammering on this point several weeks ago, especially when more voters were undecided, it might have worked.

I’m not sure it will now.

McCain is an idiot but I’ll vote for him as he beats the alternative.

At least 50% of Americans are brainwashed. I know there are Obama voters who aren't stupid people and they will vote Obama come hell or high water. It's past the point of evidence and logic.

Some of us have been warning for years that the MSM had the power to do exactly what is being done now. We were derided as alarmists and told that conservatives could bypass the media and go right to the people. Well, we now know that is bs. Obama will spend about 3/4 of a billion and the in kind contribution from the networks, newspapers and cable is priceless.

Republicans have laid down and assumed the submissive posture. McCain took Wright, Rezko and other assorted commies off the table early when they should have been banging on them right after the convention when McCain was up.

Bush has been in the submissive position to the media almost since day one working under the misperception that his only chance to prosecute the war was to unilaterally disarm and allow every lie told about him to go unanswered. Then is got worse and he agreed to any and all spending bills just to maintain.

And the Republican Party? LOL, a freaking punching bag if ever there was one. Yes, some did well with the energy thing this summer but overall they did the bendover and touch'em in unison.

And here we are!

McCain is the reason McCain is where he is. If he loses it will be his fault for running left of center.

If he loses I hope he joins the democrat party where the ass**le belongs.

I’ll vote for him but only because of Palin.

I am blasting and sending to hell McCain and not you.

Please forgive if you thought otherwise.

My best regards.

With the propaganda machine running in overdrive (wasting fuel too) the reality I believe is much different than the perception. I am being cautiously optimistic.

This is only about three months too late.

It would have been forgotten by the public about 2 months and 3 weeks ago.

Nice try anyway.

No disagreement there. Don’t get me wrong. In fact, I voted for McCain earlier this week. I just think they should’ve spent more time pointing this out.

I have not voted for an individual since 1996. Remembering WWII I voted for Dole to pay the debt incurred when he and thousands of other guys landed on that damned Italian beach.Silly I guess but none the less true.

Good good good.

Reminding people of the seismic power shift to the left that will occur with Obama, will instill second thoughts on many Obama voters.

Saying this months ago would have done no good.

Now is the best time. The message is fresh in the mind.

That is why things like Wright won't work, it's been done already. People got “used” to it.

But this message is fresh and new to most.

HIT THEM HARD WITH IT!

We fight, we win!

That simple.

FIGHT!
