It's not so much keeping the genetics pure (there aren't too many pure bred Americans), it's keeping the western ideology of freedom pure that is important.

“Keeping genetics pure” is pretty creepy and not consistent with freedom. But taxing the longtime residents of a country to subsidize the importation and reproduction of people from a totally foreign culture who have no interest in joining the culture of the country they’re moving to, is self-destructive, regardless of the genetics of the importees. And equally destructive is the notion that a society is automatically “better” if its members are lots of different colors.
