Socialism is when government controls the means of production. I say “controls” because the common definition, which uses the word “owns” is not suffcient. Ownership and control are really the same thing, but there are varying degrees of control. Obama wants far more control over the means of production than any President we’ve ever elected.
Marxism is socialism, but it has an extra feature: it has a class component—at a minimum, the notion that the underclass should rule, and in fact, the notion that the rich should be act as servants of and providers for the poor.
Clearly, that is what Obama is all about.
