Mr Powell is now a four-star general in Americas most surprising new army: the Obamacons. The army includes other big names such as Susan Eisenhower, Dwights granddaughter, who introduced Mr Obama at the Democratic National Convention and Christopher Buckley, the son of the conservative icon William Buckley, who complains that he has not left the Republican Party: the Republican Party has left him. Chuck Hagel, a Republican senator from Nebraska and one-time bosom buddy of Mr McCain has also flirted heavily with the movement, though he has refrained from issuing an official endorsement. The biggest brigade in the Obamacon army consists of libertarians, furious with Mr Bushs big-government conservatism, worried about his commitment to an open-ended war on terror, and disgusted by his cavalier way with civil rights. (snip) But the army has many other brigades, too: repentant neocons such as Francis Fukuyama, legal scholars such as Douglas Kmiec, and conservative talk-show hosts such as Michael Smerconish. (snip) Many disillusioned Republicans hoped that Mr McCain would provide a compass for a party that has lost its way, but now feel that the compass has gone haywire. Kenneth Adelman, who once described the invasion of Iraq as a cakewalk, decided this week to vote for Mr Obama mainly because he regards Sarah Palin as not close to being acceptable in high office. The rise of the Obamacons is more than a reaction against Mr Bushs remodelling of the Republican Party and Mr McCains desperation:(snip) For many conservatives, Mr Obama embodies qualities that their party has abandoned: pragmatism, competence and respect for the head rather than the heart. Mr Obamas calm and collected response to the turmoil on Wall Street contrasted sharply with Mr McCains grandstanding.

Translated: Say anything to get elected
Obama promises even more expansion of the government, his campaign really shows its contempt for free speech rights, a lack of respect for the second amendment and a desire to appoint judges who make it up along the way. Denial of propert rights, denial of states' rights and no fiscal discipline.
Yes, the Republican Party left him, because Christopher is NOT a CONSERVATIVE, but a RINO. Sorry, the Republican Party should not be the 'new' Democratic Party (since the 'old' Democratic Party is now a Socialist-Marxist Party), but a party for FISCAL and SMALL GOVERNMENT CONSERVATIVES!!
Of course, the Social Conservatives IMHO is dividing the GOP.
Hottest cult since the Moonies.
Donald Trump
Miguel D. Lausell
Silver Salazar of Colorado
John Coale Attorney ( Greta's Husband)
just to name a few.

Now there are Obamacons:
These people are insane... Hussein will be the biggest leftist ever elected.
How does that jive with one’s so called conservatism?
The video reminds me of the films of the Hitler Youth Movement! Hang on folks, we’re in for a rough ride!
Keep the list for next year, and keep the clips of all media telling us Obama will cut our taxes. Next year they will all tell us Obama was brilliant for lying to us.
Face it folks, the voters want change from Bush so bad, they are willing to take a chance on even an Obama. McCain’s efforts to become the unBush have just added more to the change momentum.
McCain campaign of ‘I know what to do, trust me, I’m a Maverick, I picked Palin and I’m not Bush’ is pretty thin gruel. What the GOP needs is a new Contract with America, perhaps in 2010 they will find their voice, original conservative, I hope.
I don’t think Donald Trump is a DEMOCRAT... I’ve heard he is an INDEPENDENT
LIBERTARIAN are for Obama?? The party that is for ALMOST no GOVERNMENT will be ENDORSING a BIG GOVERNMENT MARXIST. I doubt it!!
He will never allow FREE SPEECH...and he'll ban GUNS!!
Please take your BS over to the DU...you aren’t a CONSERVATIVE!!
Saltpeter and cold showers will take care of that.
They are “hangers-on” who won’t return his phone calls when he is sent to the back of the Senate as the Junior Senator from Illinois.
He’s the Wizard of Oz whose curtain has long been pulled but is too egotistical to turn around and check.
it’s a contradiction in terms.
1. You could support neither candidate and be a conservative.
2. You could hold you nose and support John McCain and be a conservative.
3. You cannot support BO and be a conservative. It’s not doable.
Powell spent 20 minutes saying why McCain is bad, and not spending equal time on why Obama is good, other than “he is transformational” which is code for “he has a nice tan”.
Obama is the luckiest man walking the Earth, and he and Michelle must go back each night to their Rezko bought mansion and sit in their champagne jacuzzi, listening to a Rev Wright rant on the stereo and laughing how 2 gnarly, whitey-blamin, Black Panther wannabee radical nutjobs are being carried into the White House on the shoulders of delirious white liberals - with front running conservatives licking up the rear. (This is after Michelle and Barack are laughing how they waltzed into Princeton, Columbia and Harvard Law.) What has Obama done that deserves this sickening adulation - not a pluckin thing.
The good news is how sad Jesse Jackson is? His days as the Main Shake Down Brother from Chicago are long gone despite his trying to torpedo Obama. The envy is stupefying. He is irrelevant. Rev Al - where have you been lately? I guess the Obama campaign told you to shut up and not be seen by a white person until after election day. Thanks for complying.
McCain wins by negating ACORN registrations - that’s the headline I want to see. Then make sure you are out of the country or wearing an asbestos suit.
This ought to be very interesting.
I think the occurrence of what you have stated is a real possibility. This clown is scary.
