NBC News projects Obama clinch

NBC News, which keeps the most widely followed of the media electoral-college estimates, on Friday night said it is moving the closely watched battlegrounds of Virginia and Colorado to “lean Obama,” putting its estimate for the Democratic nominee over the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.

President Bush won each of those states by 5 points or more in both 2000 and 2004.

Before the move, NBC’s count had Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) at 264 electoral votes, to 163 for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), with 111 as tossups.

“We’re going to be, this weekend, moving Virginia and Colorado – two tossup states – into the ‘lean Obama’ category,” political director Chuck Todd told “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams from Chicago. “That moves his total to 286.”

The move is congruent with projections by others, but marks a milestone because NBC’s count is so closely followed by the press and campaigns.

Yeah, why even have an election, just give it to him already.

This is what NBC and PMSNBC are trying to do. Demoralize the Republican base to depress turnout. Idiots. Sorry, boys, we're having an election and we're going to show up to the polls, as much as you just hate having to go through that messy, inconvenient little process called democracy.

The left simply wants to rule, they consider it their divine right.

Ah, well - that’s settled then. No point holding an election when NBC has declared that The Lightbringer Obama has already won it. Get Mathews and Olbermann to stop humping his legs and let’s get him sworn in.

don't watch the news... what I do know is there are a lot of people who don't normally vote who will be voting this go around and are NOT voting for obama.

recall the polls had hillary barely up and won by 10 here in PA. The polls are heavily weighted and don't take into account the MANY dems who flat out wont vote for obama...

in 04 there were Kerry signs everywhere... all I see are McCain signs. I have seen only 6 obama signs total in my travels. the only exception is when you get to allentown.

McCain has the rural and suburban vote... plus, there is some truth to what Murtha said last week about PA that will be hard for O to overcome... sad but true....

As though they have ANY cred.

A dearth of cred; an abundance of crud.

Yeah. GE Finance was a big money maker and it is a huge albatross now. NBC and NBC Universal are also having mega problems. I do not like O’Reilly but he was bashing NBC and said their ratings were horrible.

If the AP polls suggesting a growing lack of enthusiasm for Obie are true, NBC’s actions may end up being counter productive for Obie in specific and the Democrat Party as a whole as down the ticket candidates suffer from lower Democrat turnout.

Please, I hope you’re just being over the top. Don’t do that. There’s no guarantee Obama will win but if he does you would miss the intense satisfaction of ejecting the clown from office.

If Obama wins, I might just kill myself. There’s no point in living if my country becomes lost forever.

Get a grip man, We're Americans, we can overcome a lot more than an Obama Presidency.

AND, it will be a McCain Presidency.

Buck up!

Heh...if only it were that simple.

I don’t advocate anyone killing themselves over an Obama win, but if he does win, it’s going to take a heck of a lot more than election to get rid of him.
