Democrats won’t be satisfied until they have taken all of your money, and you are left poverty stricken

Another issue McCain should grab with both hands and run with it. Big time.

They can have it. I only got 600 left in there anyway. Pulled out when I saw Barney Frwank let the cat out of the bag. “ Don’t worry there are still plenty of rich people out there we can tax”. To me that is the most telling quote of the election.

I thought they just wanted to tax the 401 investments going in, as if that wasn’t bad enough. Now they want to force us to trade our investments for government debt - they essentially want us to buy social security bonds? They’re going to turn perfectly peaceful middle class Americans into firebombing revolutionaries.

$12 trillion in retirement plans. Probably now about $8 trillion. Obama will need it for all the millions of illegals he plans to import from Africa and the Middle East to insure your vote NEVER counts again.

Donate, volunteer and GOTV.

I copied an article regarding this and put it in the teacher's lunch room.

It woke up a few people.

I have been stashing away $200 every paycheck in a TSA, for over 15 years preparing for my retirement.

I hate those people.

A 55-year-old who lost 20% of his 401(k) because of the recent stock market decline

Should consider himself lucky. Some of us are down close to 50%...

In addition, workers would be able to pass on only half of their account balances to their heirs; presumably the government would seize the remaining half. (Under current law, 401(k) balances are fully heritable, although they are subject to the income tax.)

Scary, isn't it? Obama must go down in defeat. This is only the beginning.

If I understand correctly, the government will allow you to give it your 401(k) in exchange for an enhanced Social Security benefit - which, presumably, wouldn’t be inheritable by your heirs.

Wouldn’t that create a moral hazard in a socialized medicine environment?

A welfare state is one that assumes responsibility for the health, happiness, and general well being of all its citizens except the taxpayers.

Note that your non-401K and non-IRA investments just took a big tumble in the market during the last 7 months. We expect them to recover, but it will probably take a couple of years. Do you really want those “gains” to be subject to capital gains taxes which are doubled?

Ok bear with me here... I looked up on Google “Dems to tax 401K “ ....this also showed up.

“Washington Post Palin Details Special Needs Policies
Washington Post, United States - 3 hours ago
Chief among them was eliminating $80 billion in tax savings for people enrolled in 401(k) retirement savings plans. This was suggested by the chairman of ... “

Then I went to the article and there is NOTHING that I can see that says this! Talk about being in the Bambi tank, or did I miss something? It's the fifth one down right now.

While there is no doubt at all the Democrats are quite capable, i suspect they would be terrified of the backlash. People without 401ks would have nothing to gain and so wouldn’t care. if you did have a 401K then you are over 50% of the population and if the Dems tried to get their hands on it I think that 50% would vote against every politician who had anything to do with it. What I would be more concerned about is changes to what you can save in the future and how much of what you save is tax free. There are enough lemmings in this country to go along with it because they are told by the government it is for the common good.

No, of course not. The Justice Department will just say they don’t want to get involved in theft while the theft is going on.
