Survey USA has a new poll out that takes a look at the race in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District. The poll shows the race is a statistical dead heat when you factor in the Margin of Error.
47% of those polled back DFL challenger Elwyn Tinklenberg. 44% support GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann. 6% support I-P candidate Bob Anderson. 2% are undecided. The MOE is +/-4%.
This is the first poll taken since Bachmann made her controversial comments on MSNBC's Hardball last Friday. It won't be the only poll on the race. MPR will release a poll on the 6th District Race tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile, a GOP operative tells Politico that the GOP is all but "writing off" Bachmann's seat. The story focuses on the trouble the NRCC is having when it comes to protecting GOP this year.

okay, now here’s a dumb question.
from what I’ve read about Bachmann, she’s a real conservative. So why is her seat in trouble? It’s not like anybody watches MSDNC.

I hope that Michele Bachmann is reelected and leads the overthrow of the GOP’s Congressional leadership.

The GOP leadership are morons. Thanks to them, I have a Dem representing me. It is a reliable GOP district, but the idiots supported Oberweis, figuring he would buy the seat. However, the voters of the IL-14 didn’t buy what he had to sell.
Any way, going to the topic, I hope Michelle wins. Cos if she loses, the GOP will be even more craven in the future. They’ll say, “We can’t stand up the Dems. Look at Curt Weldon and Michelle B.”

Who in their right mind would NOT want to vote for someone named Elwyn Tinklenberg? Geeez. Can this fiasco get any weirder?
What is worse, the Republican Leadership will then think accomodation with the Democrats is the way to go.
Remember the bailout, the Dems would not do a thing unless the Repubs rolled over for them and robbed the issue from the election.
Rush calls them Bob Michaels Republicans.
I know Wright County is part of her district and it's the most conservative county in Minnesota. It's right next door to my county.

FWIW, the last Star-Tribune poll of the 2006 election showed her losing to Patty Wetterling by 8 pts. Bachmann ended up winning by 8 pts and Wetterling was a much better candidate.
Also, it seems that the NRCC caught so much flak over pulling out that they have reversed course and are now aiding Bachmann in her race. Way to go grassroots!!
