When I had my first child, the doctor said “It’s a girl” and I replied “It’s a baby.” Gender didn’t matter, disabilities didn’t matter, I had a baby.

When I miscarried my third pregnancy, I didn’t lose a blob of protoplasm, I lost a baby.
