What I do not understand about this 401K proposal is what happens to the assets? Does the government (or person) sell the stocks and bonds of private companies? Or does the government become the share holder of all these companies in the portfolios? True socialism. If not how can it guarantee the return?
The economics make no sense. Somebody needs to look at a supply demand curve.
