Sure, Davis is an admitted communist but he at least has the benefit of: a) being dead and, therefore, unable to refute the allegation and, b:) he was a US citizen and that closes the book on this issue.
I had a weird thought too. Maybe there is a grandma tape and O really isn’t a US citizen. If that’s true, I don’t think he’d be able to step foot back in this country.
Thus the trip to Hawaii.
What faster way to get out of the country than to already be off the mainland?
Would also explain why it took him three days to plan. If he has to leave the country, he’d have to plan for a new pilot and copilot and figure out how to duck the secret service if he wants to leave Hawaii without them.
Would also explain why Michelle and the girls didn’t go with him. Someone would have to stay here to sell the house and take care of other details.
