One correction John: Four out of five polls that I’ve been able to find racial breakdowns, Obama is actually trailing the John Kerry numbers of 04 among African-Americans, and BADLY trailing the Gore numbers of 2000. In only one poll of five has he matched-—but never exceeded-—the Gore numbers.
Good observations. Who’d have thought? But there are many conservative blacks.
So are you saying that he’s acutally pulling lower percentages or that the polls are projecting he pulls lower percentages?
Also, if he does actually pull lower percentages, I think that deficit will be made up for in some way by the volume of the African American vote
