LONDON — An Iranian ship captured by Somali pirates carried sealed containers of a powdery substance believed to be nuclear or chemical weapons agents.

Western intelligence agencies have been monitoring the capture of the Iran Deyanat, seized by Somali pirates on Aug. 21. The cargo ship, owned and operated by the state-owned Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, or IRISL, contains sealed cargo thought to be linked to the death of 16 pirates.

How many of you have heard of something called a Q Ship? I don’t see too many raised hands out there. Well, here goes, a Q ship was a decoy ship, a highly armed and armored merchant ship use in anti-submarine warfare in WW2. It would appear to be a very innocuous ship ripe for sinking by a U-Boat. In the early stages of the War, U-Boat captains preferred attacking on the surface. The U-Boat usually got a big surprise from one or two 5 inch guns concealed on the disguised merchant ship.

Shipping companies coud learn a lesson from history.

Not to mention Israel would probably nuke Iran for a stunt like that.

“....And this is not news in the USA?...”

Of course not! That would affect Obama in a negative light. Can’t have that.

“Why do you try to insert logic when considering the motives of the Mullahs?”

Because Iran is completely aware that a clear attack with WMD against Israel would invite retaliation, possibly nuclear retaliation. They are vicious and evil, but they aren’t stupid.

What do you call 16 pirates who died from an unknown substance?

A good start.

BULL! It’s not a matter of “stupid”, it’s a matter of deranged! There’s a difference.

Hitler and all his henchmen took Germany right down in flames and turned on the German people...Japan was struck with 2 nuclear bombs and STILL did not immediately quit.

BUT the 72 virgin crowd are strappping explosives to their own CHILDREN, dying is not something that bothers them in the least, especially if they’re able to kill alot of infidels along with them.

These people would just as soon set their very own children on fire and watch them burn than see Israelis living in peace, AND OFTEN DO EXACTLY THAT by sending them onto buses with explosives, etc.

Their leaders would just as soon be famous or martyrs than save their country much less live in peace.

I’ve seen this mistake before, we try to rationalize their behavior as we would, not as they do.

How about the CIA hiring the pirates to board the ship?

That's one way to put eyes on target.

The ship set sail from Nanjing, China, at the end of July. According to its manifest, it was heading for Rotterdam where it would unload 42500 tons of iron ore and “industrial products” purchased by a German client.

Polonium?

IT is quite easy. You and I don’t travel in the circles of multi-million dollars, nor do we have the resources to such a transaction. Those that DO however, do this type of thing daily. Our operatives could have done this in a matter of hours, not days. I see you are a newbie.

I’m not trying to rationalize the behavior of islamo terrorists, but of Iran. There is a huge difference. The Iranians want to turn the world into islamic world and will certainly use whatever means necessary, including the use of suicide bombers. However, to that end they have used plausible deniability all the time. They train terrorists and send them out on the world but don’t claim any credit for it and make sure that there are no footprints leading back to Iran. They have shipped weapons, including armor penetrating shape charges into Iraq but they make sure there are no Iranian markings on them.

If Iran set off a nuclear dirty bomb with the intent of contaminating Israel they could probably count on a nuclear retaliation, and without nuclear weapons of their own they would have to absorb it without recourse. They want to control the middle east and eventually the world. They don’t get that by being turned into an ash heap and they know it.
